Reyes Pops Two Homers in 8-4 Win for Pittsburgh
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Washington Nationals by a score of 8-4. right fielder Franmil Reyes deserved the lion's share of the credit. Reyes hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Pirates. Fernando Romero earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 3-2. The win puts Pittsburgh at 49-48 this season.
Pittsburgh pitcher Patrick Corbin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a 2-run single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 4-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Reyes told the Pittsburgh Daily.
