Mejia Impresses in Arizona Loss
|
Cincinnati took on Arizona in front of a lively crowd.
Despite a great performance by Arizona catcher Francisco Mejia, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Diamondbacks by the score of 12-6 at Chase Field. Mejia went 4 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win for the Reds lifted their record to 45-44.
It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Trea Turner, the 27-year old center fielder . Turner contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Cincinnati up, 5-1.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Turner. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
