Cardinals Collect 5-2 Win Over Nationals
|
The St. Louis Cardinals walked off with a big win.
The Washington Nationals got a superb performance from pitcher Dustin May. Still, it wasn't enough to beat St. Louis. The Cardinals won the game, 5-2. May threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win elevated the Cardinals to 55-31.
St. Louis won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Kyle Crick on the mound for Washington, second baseman Ozzie Albies hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Cardinals fans to their feet.
"This place was jumping at the end," Albies said.
