Kansas City Makes It 9 Straight with 5-4 Win
|
The Royals grabbed a win, 5-4, at Kauffman Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Arizona pitcher Max Fried. Fried went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Kansas City reliever Cristian Javier picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. J.B. Wendelken was saddled with the loss. The wins continue to add up for Kansas City, with the latest making it 9 in a row.
Anthony Rizzo clinched the win with a 2-run double in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Kansas City first baseman went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Rizzo said.
