| Reds Deal Dodgers 5-0 Defeat | The Cincinnati Reds went home winners at Dodger Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Blake Snell. Snell stifled the Los Angeles Dodgers, enabling Cincinnati to grab the 5-0 win. In 6.1 innings, Snell surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Reds sit in 4th place in the National League Central Division with a record of 41-44.
The Reds got an important contribution from shortstop Adalberto Mondesi, who in the top of the sixth hit a fastball into left for a solo home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Reds ahead, 2-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Cincinnati manager Brad S. "It's usually not just one thing."
