Royals Beat Visiting Twins, 7-2
|
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Minnesota Twins, 7-2. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Jacob Nix, who played a pivotal role in the win. Nix went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-3. The current losing streak for Minnesota has reached 5 games.
Dansby Swanson had a big bases-clearing triple for the Royals in the bottom of the first inning. With Kansas City leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Nick Pivetta and swatted a triple to left. It was his 6th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 6-0.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Nix.
