|
New York Mets starter Jack Flaherty pitched a strong game against the Houston Astros at Citi Field, leading the Mets to victory, 4-1. Corey Knebel was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities. The loss makes Houston 29-33.
The Mets got a big at-bat from second baseman Starlin Castro. For the game, Castro was 1 for 4 with a triple. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave New York a 1-0 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Mets manager Larry Linke, "I like our chances."
