Rangers Earn 2-1 Road Win Over Kansas City
|
Kauffman Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers eked out a 2-1 win versus the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jose Quintana. He was terrific. Diego Castillo closed the door for Texas, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Andrelton Simmons? The Texas shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-0. For the game, Simmons had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Kansas City skipper Bryce Shuck.
The American League West Division-leading Rangers are 36-15.
