Blue Jays Win, 8-5, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles, 8-5, at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays got a fine performance from designated hitter Aledmys Diaz, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Toronto reliever Alec Bettinger picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Adalberto Mejia absorbed the loss. Toronto has now won 4 games in a row.
In the bottom of the second, Toronto catcher Spencer Kieboom had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Kieboom stroked a 2-run double to center. It made the score 3-0, Toronto. For the game, he was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Toronto manager Ryan Hicks.
