Tyler Hardman Wins MVP Trophy
Tuesday, October 22nd , 2024
At the age of 25, Tyler Hardman of the Wilmington Blue Rocks could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2024 was good enough to win the first baseman the Sub League 2 Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .311 batting average this year, as well as a .384 on-base percentage. He played 117 games and racked up 143 hits, 12 doubles, 1 triple, 48 home runs, 126 RBIs and 92 runs scored.
He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 30. Christian Arroyo of the Dayton Dragons finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Kahlil Watson of the Eugene Emeralds finished third.
